There are many festivities going on today to give honor to our vets who have helped keep our country free. All of us here at The Personal Gift Basket Company want to take this time to thank you for your sacrifice.

Our 28th president, Woodrow Wilson said that Veteran's Day should be a day "filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of our nations."

The sacrifice and to some, the ultimate sacrifice that is daily given by our men and women does not go unnoticed and respected.

Taking Time for You

Taking time for yourself can sometimes be the hardest thing to do. With so many things pulling us in so many different directions, it's hard to find a good time to just relax and take care of ourselves...right? Making "self" a priority can feel almost selfish, however it's the most important thing that we can do for ourselves and others we know.

Owning my own gift company, I have learned to become very selective about what gourmet foods and spa items I place in our gifts. I sample every truffle (yummy) and also every spa item I choose. Doing this, especially with the spa items, has taught me to enjoy my "me" time - even if I am still "technically" working.

I don't believe there is anything more exciting then moving into a new home. I remember the first time I stepped foot into our new home - I was overwhelmed with so many emotions. I also was disappointed that my realtor did not think enough of us to get us a gift!

Hello everyone!

As you can see by the last time that I posted to my blog that I am not used to having a blog!

I am committed to updating and keeping you all informed as to what is going on with the The Personal Gift Basket Company from this day forward.

I hope that everyone had a wonder 4th of July with your family and friends. I love those holidays that draw up closer together. Bar-b-q and fireworks, family and friends are a great combination, don't you think?

So I guess until labor day arrives, it's back to the old grinding mill. As for the company - we are working on the August newsletter that will be coming to a mailbox near you next week. I hope that you enjoy the material and of course recipe.
